These terms cover your use of the CottageSync app. Using the app means you accept them.
A coordination tool for families and co-owners who share a cottage. It surfaces information — who is going when, what has been spent, what needs doing — and lets people talk to each other about it.
What it deliberately is not. CottageSync never moves money, and it never decides who gets the cottage. It does not settle payments, hold funds, resolve overlapping date requests, rank family members, or enforce a fair share. Those are conversations for your family; the app's job is to make sure everyone is looking at the same facts.
What you put into CottageSync — expenses, notes, photos, documents, guide content — stays yours. You give us permission to store and display it to the people you share a property with, so the app can work. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share.
Publishing a Guest Hub page makes it readable by anyone with the link. That is the purpose, and it is your choice what goes on it. Unpublishing stops the link working immediately.
A cottage needs a subscription to send invitations and to publish its Guest Hub page. Everything else works without one. The subscription is sold through the App Store — one cottage, billed yearly, renewing automatically until you cancel. Apple may offer a free first month to customers who have not subscribed before; whether you get it is decided by the App Store at the moment of purchase, and the app tells you which applies before you buy. Cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings.
When a cottage's access ends it becomes read-only: you can still see everything, but not add or change it. The public Guest Hub page and the Offline Guest Card keep working regardless — guest safety information should not depend on a renewal date. Other cottages on your account are unaffected.
We work to keep CottageSync running but cannot promise it is always available or error-free. Do not rely on it as the only record of anything that matters — keep your own copy of important documents. The Logbook and the export exist to help with exactly that.
Weather information is provided for convenience and is not a safety system. Do not rely on CottageSync to warn you about freezing conditions or any other hazard.
You can stop using CottageSync at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend an account that is being used to break these terms or to harm someone.
If these terms change materially, the date at the top of this page changes with them.
